Growing Old

Grandma is grieving but she does not know why.
My Grandma Betty is missing her friend, but she does not know that she isn't just missing, she is mourning.
There is a lingering sadness, and loneliness pops up with a feeling of loss, but she won't remember that her friend Hazel has died. Hazel, bosom buddy at the home who sat with her in the lunch room and who greeted her family members like old friends. Hazel has died and as powerful as that fact is, it is not as strong as the dementia that will keep sweeping it off the front porch of her mind. She will be sad, but it will be something she can't quite put her finger on.
